Waterforms is a stone sculpture by Claire Morris, tucked away near the pond and easy to miss behind the fence to the pond, but well worth discovering.
Carved from a single block of stone, Waterforms has a smooth, flowing shape that echoes the movement of water. Its curves catch the light in different ways throughout the day, creating gentle shifts of shadow that make the sculpture feel alive in its waterside setting.
Morris, who trained at Chelsea School of Art, often lets her sculptures “emerge” from the stone as she works. You can see that approach here: the piece feels organic, almost as if it has grown out of the landscape rather than been placed in it.
