The Skatepark

Horsham Skatepark is a well-used and much-loved part of Horsham Park, popular with skateboarders, BMX riders and scooter users of all ages and abilities. Set within the park rather than tucked away from it, the skatepark offers a relaxed space to ride, practise and meet friends, with the added benefit that families and supporters can make use of the wider park while riders are on site.

The skatepark has an interesting local history. For around 20 years, a wooden skate facility occupied the same spot and was a fixture of Horsham’s skate scene. When the older structure was removed, local riders; skateboarders, BMX riders and scooter users, helped shape what replaced it. The result is a more durable concrete park that retains the same familiar setting within Horsham Park while offering a genuinely modern facility.

The layout

The skatepark has a straightforward layout that works well for flowing sessions rather than single features. It is split between a plaza and a bowl, with a quarter pipe and flat bank on either side of a funbox, along with a selection of mini ramps. It also features a coping box — something relatively rare in skateparks of this size. Altogether, it is a good spot for building confidence, linking tricks and keeping a session moving, particularly for younger riders and those who prefer a smaller, more approachable park.

The mixed-use feel is part of the appeal for scooter riders, BMX riders and skateboarders alike. Beginners can get comfortable with the flow of a park, while more experienced riders can still find satisfying repeated lines and practice time without needing a large site. Permanent picnic tables add to the open, family-friendly atmosphere.

Getting there

The skatepark sits in the north-east corner of Horsham Park (What3Words: ///spices.hopes.flame ), just up from Pavilions in the Park, which also has the nearest car park (RH12 2DF).
