The Friends of Horsham Park is a group of volunteers who work to protect, enhance and promote our beautiful park as a place of recreation and enjoyment for the long-term benefit of everyone in the local community and for wildlife.
We are an active group and proud of what we have achieved for the park so far. This includes creating ‘Poet’s Corner’ and a bee bed with bug hotel; planting a memorial tree for the Armistice Centenary; designing tree trails and children’s activities and events; renovating Park House Sensory Garden and, with the Samaritans, planting a Bulbs for Lives Field. We co-ordinate regular volunteer groups on projects to conserve and enhance the park and have a very enthusiastic team of Wednesday morning volunteers who each year contribute more than a thousand hours of gardening care. We have many more ideas to improve the park – for everyone who enjoys it today, and for future generations. We work closely with Horsham District Council on their plans for the park’s future and we’re keen that the local community’s views should be represented, so if you have ideas big or small for improving our wonderful green space, then let us know.
